We are honored to have the following family and friends be a part of our wedding.

kristenwpMaid of Honor ~ Kristen

Kristen is Michelle’s little sister. Growing up they were typical siblings that fought, but are now as close as sisters come. They’ve been through a lot together and tell each other everything. Kristen has been an amazing maid of honor through the whole planning process offering advice and opinions when needed and just being a good listening ear.

carsonwpBest Man ~ Carson

Carson is Ryan’s little brother. Carson and Ryan were total opposites growing up, but have become extremely close. When Ryan and Carson get together they are a goofy, funny, great group of guys. Carson and his wife Brittany has given Michelle and Ryan the CUTEST niece in the world, Shelby whom they adore! Carson will be an amazing best man and is always there for Ryan.

kelly1wpBridesmaid ~ Kelly

Kelly and Michelle met in college and played field hockey together. They were roommates for 3 years and were inseparable. They have made so many fun memories together and still remain very close. Kelly married Chris (groomsman) last year and had a beautiful wedding. Kelly is Michelle’s go to person with questions/ advice since she went through the progress recently. Without Kelly, Michelle may have never met Ryan. Michelle calls Kelly her “sunshine”!

gracewpBridesmaid ~ Grace

Grace is Michelle’s little sister. Michelle and Grace have a very special bond. Michelle was there for Graces birth and helped when she was a baby. Grace loves when Michelle is goofy and makes jokes. Grace had the best, biggest scream when she found out Ryan and Michelle were engaged! She can’t wait to party at the wedding and asks Michelle about all the details!

Groomsman ~ Chris

Ryan and Chris grew up down the street from each other.  They’ve gotten in trouble together over the years and now matured together (well maybe :)) Chris and his wife Kelly introduced Ryan and Michelle and for that they will be forever grateful. Chris is always a good time and will be the first person to give you the shirt off his back if you need it.

calebwpGroomsman ~ Caleb

Caleb is Michelle’s little brother. They also have a special bond. Caleb loves when Michelle comes to visit and brings her dog Maddy. Michelle asked Caleb to be in the wedding by sending a box of confetti that had a ring pop in it. There was a message in the box that read, “It’s my turn to pop the question, will you be a groomsman?” Caleb responded with a cute answer. He said, “I don’t know what a groomsman is, but thank you for my lollipop! By the way, it had some paper on it.” He’s a cutie and will look great at the wedding!

shelbywpFlower Girl – Shelby

Shelby is Ryan and Michelle’s niece. She is the daughter of the best man, Carson and his wife Brittany. Shelby has the ability to make everyone around her smile and laugh. Her laugh and love for life is contagious. She’s one of the cutest, smartest, and funniest toddlers around.  Shelby is a genuine Princess in the Ferraro family. Ryan and Michelle love spending every minute they can with Shelby and spoiling her rotten. Shelby will be just 3 at the wedding and will be the most beautiful flower girl ever.

I went dress shopping yesterday (January 11th)  and it was awesome. I found my dress!!!! Everything went very smoothly. I took Kristen and Joanne with me and they were a big help. I had a pretty good idea going in there what I liked and I brought pictures from the online catalog to show the consultant. She brought me 3 or 4 dresses to start with that I had picked out. The one dress that I thought I would like the least ended up being the one! I surprised myself and fell in love with it. No one sobbed, but I think we all had to hold back some tears. It definitely made it a little more real.

I also had an appointment at another bridal salon so we decided to take a look to make sure. I walked in and looked around for 1 minute before I told them I had to cancel because I had already found my dress lol.

We also found the style and color of the bridesmaids dresses, that compliments my dress well. I know all the girls will look great in it. I’m in love with my dress and can’t wait for everyone to see it. I hope Ryan likes it, I know he will! I’m getting more excited every day and sometimes it feels like it’s going to take forever for September 20th to get here!

First a small back story: I always ask Ryan if he loves me.
He always responds with a sarcastic “No”.
I follow up asking, “Not even a little bit?”
He’ll give in and say, “Okay, maybe just a grain of sand.”

It was Black Friday after Thanksgiving (November 29, 2014). We have been dating five years now, it was our anniversary. I had  been ready to marry Ryan for a while now and we had talked about it happening soon many times. I had come to the conclusion that it wasn’t going to happen for a very long time, if at all.

I had to work a half day and when I woke up I didn’t feel great. As the day went on at work, I felt worse. I decided to go to the doctor as soon as I got off and get some medicine. I called Ryan to tell him I would be a little late. When he answered, he was unusually sweet and excited telling me to hurry home and feel better. When I did get home, he opened the door with a big hello. He had shaved his beard I’d been complaining about for months. He told me that he had something to talk to me about and he seemed very nervous. He sat me down at the kitchen table and I thought something bad had happened or he was breaking up with me. There was also a mason jar on the table that I thought had gravy in it.

Well, as he sat me down at the kitchen table, he began saying, “I know I always joke with you that I only love you a grain of sand, but I want you to know that I love you a million grains of sand.” He grabbed the mason jar, which I now realized was full of sand. He told me to pour out the sand and I would find something in it that will show me how much he loved me. At this point I had an idea of what was happening, but didn’t want to get my hopes up. I began to pour out the sand onto a plate and towards the bottom, the ring fell out. Ryan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I immediately started crying and jumped into his arms repeating yes, yes, yes! I was in total shock.

I am finally going to marry the man of my dreams! I’m still on cloud nine today planning my wedding, and can’t wait for the big day!

It all started 5 years ago in 2009. I was living in Richmond at the time and had come down to Virginia Beach to stay with my best friend Kelly, and look for a place to live since I would be starting PTA school soon. Kelly was dating (her now husband) Chris, who lived with Ryan at the time. Chris and Ryan grew up next door to each other and have been best friends since they were little. Chris had to stop by his house to pick something up real quick. As we pulled up, I remember Chris saying “Don’t mind my roommate. He’s kinda weird.” As soon as we pulled up I knew why he said that. Ryan was cutting an old mattress in half with a saw and strapping it to his Bronco to take to the dump. As I’m sitting in the car, Ryan comes up and sticks his head in the window and says, “Hey Megan, when are you going to let me take you on a date?” He immediately looked surprised and realized I wasn’t Megan. I introduced myself as Michelle and Mr. Rico Suave followed up with “Hello Michelle, when are you going to let me take you on a date?” I awkwardly said,”I don’t know” and laughed it off. When I officially moved down to Chicks Beach I would hang out with a group of friends frequently that included Ryan. He would always try to flirt and put the moves on, but at the time I had no intentions of dating anyone. It was my first and hardest semester in school and I just didn’t have time.

One day during the summer we went to a local bar and Ryan wanted to dance. I wasn’t in the mood to dance and got out of dancing by promising him I would dance some other time. Later in the summer, Ryan rolled up on the beach on an awesome jet ski and told me that I owed him a dance/ jet ski ride. I agreed as long as he promised not to flip me off the jet ski. He was going really slow so I told him he could go faster. Well, as he went faster, he hit a wave just right and off we went. I came out of the water, neck hurting, and bathing suit top around my neck. Our first dance didn’t go so well. He was very apologetic and bought my drinks that night even though I could barely move my neck.

Finally in the fall, after Ryan had asked me out like 1456 times, I finally said okay. The only stipulation being I had to be home by 9 to watch Greys Anatomy with the girls. He took me to Sushi and we had a great time. He asked if I wanted to go to a wine place down the street but I chose to go home. Knowing what I know now, I wish I would have gone. I also later found out that he thought of taking me to Chucky Cheese for our first date. now that he knows me, he should have lol. He sent me flowers the day after our first date, helped me when I “locked my keys in my car”( that’s a long story for another time), and continued to lather on the Ferraro charm until I finally gave up and realized that I liked him.

Now, Ryan’s  version of our story may be slightly different, including how hardheaded I was and how he was about to give up on me. I’m glad he didn’t. We’ve been dating for five amazing years now, lived together for 4, and have hardly ever fought. We’re both pretty laid back people that bring out the best in each other and love to just “hang out” together. I can’t imagine my life without him, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us!
